There are many ways to participate in Patriot’s Pride A Daylily Exhibition presented by the Patriot Daylily Society and accredited by the American Hemerocallis Society to be held at Tower Hill Botanic Garden,11 French Drive, Boylston, MA 01505 on July 26, 2008.

First, do come and bring your scapes!  Don’t be afraid because there will be someone to help you classify and groom your daylilies.  As long as you know the cultivar’s name, you’re good to go.  There are some rules which are specified right in the show schedule. It may seem complicated but its not. A copy of the schedule can be seen on our website, patriotdaylilysociety.org or can be obtained at the show

Secondly, you may be interested in arrangements. We have a design class, too.  DIVISION IV: DESIGN – Patriot’s Pride Section 1: Eligible for the AHS Tricolor rosette.  Class A:  Boston Tea Party - A mass design which reflects the class title and utilizes some or all parts of a table setting. Other accessories may be used. Class B: Peace at Last-  A design in any Oriental style including ‘Oriental Freestyle” which reflects the class title. Class C: Let Freedom Ring!   A design in any modern style which reflects the class title.  Modern styles include but are not limited to abstract, modern line or line-mass, underwater, transparent, hanging, parallel or freeform.

Thirdly, volunteer to clerk and learn exactly how the judges score the exhibits. There are many other committees such as hospitality, setup breakdown and awards.  We even have room for one more flower related vendor. Become involved.

Lastly, if you don’t have that much time, or heaven forbid have no daylilies, go and view the exhibit as part of the General

Public from 1- 4:30 PM. There is no charge for the show but Tower Hill does have an entrance fee.  You are sure to be amazed. Did you know there are over 40,000 registered cultivars? If you go …

 You are cordially invited
